Anyone who knows me will know of my deep connection with grouse species. I spent more than 20 years undertaking field work on grouse. Several grouse species exhibit fascinating lekking behavior where multiple males compete on a "lek" for mating opportunities but take no further care of the young. Indeed many species exhibit this and this gallery seeks to show similarities ands differences between the species from different families.
